Typhoid fever in Fiji

Since the beginning of 2011, health authorities have registered a total of 41 cases of typhoid fever. All public meetings have been temporarily banned in Bua Province as one measure to contain further spread of the disease.

Travellers to this region should be aware of the risk of exposure to typhoid fever and take all necessary precautions to avoid consuming unsafe food and water.
