Typhoid fever is major risk in Zimbabwe

There have been 39 new suspected typhoid cases reported in just one week. Of these, 26 were registered in Harare. So far this year, there have been at least 181 suspected cases and three deaths nationwide. Travellers to any area where there are cases of typhoid fever can reduce their risk of exposure by being cautious and by avoiding consuming food or water that is contaminated. Vaccination against typhoid fever should be considered, especially if unsafe food cannot be avoided.
