Typhoid vaccine made by Sanofi Pasteur may not provide protection from typhoid

Sanofi Pasteur, Lyon, France, makers of typhoid vaccine, has recalled 16 batches of its vaccine Typhim Vi because of concerns about its effectiveness. Travellers who recently received this vaccine may not be fully protected from typhoid fever. Travellers who received this vaccine should be cautious and follow strict food and water precautions. If a traveller becomes ill, he/she should seek medical care.
