Typhoon KOPPU causes major damage in Philippines

As the powerful Typhoon KOPPU moved away from northeastern Luzon, it left a trail of destruction and death. At least 39 people were killed. Heavy rains created flooding and landslides. Electric power and communications were interrupted, and at least 100,000 people were evacuated due to flooding.

KOPPU is the second strongest storm to hit Philippines this year.
