UAE government warns its citizens about crime against Emirati travellers Central London

The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised its citizens to avoid certain areas of London due to crime. This warning comes after two violent attacks on Emirati tourists in London this year. The areas highlighted as dangerous for Emirati travellers included: Oxford Street, Edgware Road, Piccadilly, Soho, Shepherd’s Bush, Queensway, Marble Arch station, running north to Edgware Road and beyond the Metropole Hotel, and Marble Arch station to the west, to Tottenham Court Road to the east, through Bond Street and Oxford Circus.

Travellers can minimize risk of robbery by keeping valuables secured and out of sight. Avoid showing signs of affluence, such as expensive clothes and jewellery. Always remain alert to your surroundings and personal safety.
