Unofficial reports of cholera cases in several municipalities in Matanzas Province, Cuba

There are unofficial reports of approximately 30 cases of cholera in 5 municipalities: Cardenas, Union de Reyes, Jovellanos, Pedro Betancourt, and Marti. This outbreak has not been confirmed by the Ministry of Health. Although the outbreak is unconfirmed, travellers in the affected areas should exercise caution and reduce the risk of exposure to cholera by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
