Unpasteurized milk products cause outbreak of severe gastroenteritis in New Zealand

Consumption of unpasteurized (raw) milk products in Waikato and Manawatu resulted in 19 cases of severe gastroenteritis. At least 4 people were hospitalised. While milk and milk products provide many nutrition benefits, raw milk can harbour dangerous microorganisms that can pose serious health risks. Travellers anywhere can reduce the risk of serious illness by avoiding consumption of unpasteurized milk or milk products
