Update on March 22, 2017, attack in London, England

In yesterday’s attack in London, five people died including attacker.

The Westminster Underground remains closed this morning, with roads and the river around Westminster still also off limits to traffic. For those travelling on the tube, people can use Westminster as an interchange to change onto the Jubilee, Circle and District line but cannot enter or leave the station.

The following roads are still closed to traffic as of this morning:

  • All approaches to Parliament Square
  • The A3211 Victoria Embankment between Bridge Street and Northumberland Avenue
  • Whitehall southbound at the junction with Trafalgar Square
  • Victoria Street at the junction with Storeys Gate towards Parliament Square
  • Millbank northbound at Lambeth Bridge
  • Constitution Hill from Hyde Park Corner
  • The Mall from Trafalgar Square
  • Bridge Street (SE1,SW1P,SW1A) in both directions
  • Canon Row in all directions
  • Westminster Bridge – both directions

River services have been disrupted, with boats not allowed to sail west of Blackfriars near Westminster. The Thames Clipper River Bus is not operating west of Blackfriars due to closures around Westminster.

Cordons have now been lifted on Lambeth Palace Road and York Road so drivers can return.

Advice

Avoid the above mentioned areas. The crime scene remains in place while police continue their investigation. Expect to see more police and security in London.
