Updated plan to replace $100-bolivar bill postponed in Venezuela

The government's plan to replace the $100-bolivar bill, the country's largest denomination bill, has been suspended due to vast lineups at banks, looting at scores of shops, anti-government protests and at least one death. Replacement bills were not available leading to a major shortage of cash. The $100 bill is now valid until January 2, 2017.
