Violence erupts in Pakistan over anti-Muslim video

Violent protests erupted all over Pakistan in response to the anti-muslim video on YouTube. Thousands demonstrated in Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi, Multan, and Muzaffarabad. Government officials have reported as many at 17 dead and 78 injured in these protests.

Travellers should use extreme caution and avoid public places that might be targets for extremists. Avoid all public and political demonstrations since they may become violent without notice.
