Violence in Central African Republic (CAR)

At least 21 people were killed and at least 100 wounded in violent clashes that broke in Bangui, after a Muslim motorbike driver was killed and his body found dumped in the street. Muslims attacked a predominantly Christian neighbourhood, burning houses and cars.

Advice For Travellers

Although violence has decreased in CAR, the crime rate remains high. Also, weapons are left over from the sectarian conflict.

Many countries advise against all travel to CAR due to a high level of crime and the dangerous security situation.
