Violence in Iraq is intensifying; all out conflict feared (warning)

The level of violence in Iraq is increasing, and there are fears that a general armed conflict may occur. For example:

  • A suicide bomber detonated himself in a group of government-backed fighters in Falluja, killing 6 people.
  • In Baiji, a roadside bomb killed 4 policemen.
  • A car bomb in Baghdad killed at least 3 people and wounded 14.
  • Another car bomb north of the city of Ramadi killed 2 policemen and wounded another 10.
Given the lack of personal security and the unpredictability of extreme violence, all travel to Iraq should be avoided.
