Violence increases in Democratic Republic of the Congo - update

Security forces opened fire and killed at least 26 demonstrators who were protesting against President Joseph Kabila's refusal to acknowledge defeat in presidential elections and to cede power. In addition, protesters set fire to the headquarters of the ruling party in the capital, Kinshasa. Although Wednesday was apparently calm, more violence may occur.
