Violent anti-government demonstrations in Haiti

Two people were wounded when thousands of anti- and pro-government groups clashed during a protest in Port-au-Prince demanding the resignation of the president. Parts of the city were paralyzed during the confrontation. The demonstrators were dispersed by police after attempting to reach the Presidential Palace. Travellers should always use caution and avoid all public and political demonstrations since they may become violent without warning.
