Violent anti-government protests continue in Burundi

Three more people have died as the anti-government protests have continued in Burundi for the third day. The total number of deaths now stands at 6 with at least 7 other people wounded. There is a heavy police presence across Bujumbura to prevent small crowds from reaching the centre of the city. All protests have been banned, and police and troops are using
tear gas and water cannons, with hundreds of stone-throwing protesters arrested.
