Violent clashes continue in the Central African Republic (CAR)

In Bangui, CAR, violence between Christian and Muslim neighbourhoods has left 36 people dead and at least 80 injured. Clashes have been ongoing since Saturday, with sporadic gunfire and widespread looting.

Travellers should be aware that many countries advise citizens to avoid all travel to CAR.

The government has announced a curfew from 18:00 (6 pm) to 06:00 in an attempt to curtail the violence.
