Violent clashes in Dhaka, Bangladesh

In Dhaka, Bangladesh, opposition protesters have gathered for the “March for Democracy” today, while thousands of police have been deployed to avert the demonstration. There have been reports of one person killed in clashes with security forces when hundreds of demonstrators began throwing homemade bombs at police. Violent demonstrations are expected leading up to the January 5, 2014, elections.
