Violent storms cause power outages in France and damage in Spain

Violent storms and heavy winds caused power outages in parts of southwestern France and damage in northern Spain. The hardest hit areas in France were the departments of Gironde and Charentes.

If travelling in the worst affected areas, there may be power outages and fallen trees. A less-severe storm is expected today.
