Week-long protests planned for Tunisia

A rally on Saturday began a week of planned protests called “Rahil” which anti-government protesters are hoping will bring down the Islamist Ennahda government. Protesters are angry at the rising cost of living, lack of security and increase in crime, including an increasing number of rapes, terrorist incidents, and the murders of two secular politicians recently.

Over the past month, pro- and anti-government protests have occurred regularly. Always avoid public gatherings and protests as the situation can turn violent without warning.
