West Nile Fever cases in USA continue to increase (update)

While there are many reports throughout the country by many localities of mosquitoes infected with the West Nile virus, so far there have been 421 human cases along with 13 deaths reported by 35 states. California has reported the most cases (60), followed by South Dakota (27), Colorado (17), North Dakota (15), and Texas (10). Since there is no vaccine or treatment for West Nile fever, travellers to areas where this virus has been found can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
