West Nile fever cases on track to set record year in Canada and USA

So far in 2012, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has received reports of 1,590 cases of West Nile fever. The virus has been found in 48 states. There have been 65 deaths. Meanwhile, in the Province of Ontario in Canada, there has also been a surge in reported cases. So far, a total of 82 cases have been reported from this province.

Travellers to areas where the West Nile Fever virus has been found can reduce their risk of exposure to this virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
