The virus that causes West Nile fever has been found in infected mosquitoes in the following areas of the USA:

Pennsylvania (Wynnewood; Lower Merion); Texas (Denton)

A new human infection has been reported in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. A total of 3 cases have been reported in the USA so far.

Travellers to areas where the West Nile virus has been found can reduce their risk of exposure to the West Nile Fever virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
