Whooping cough (pertussis) increasing in Bahia, Brazil

In Bahia, there have been 159 reported cases of whooping cough (pertussis) between January and May this year. This represents an increase of 25 percent compared to the same time period last year. The most affected municipality is Feira de Santana.
