Widespread flooding in Peru

Heavy rains have caused widespread flooding in many parts of Peru. At least 11 deaths have been blamed on the flooding and 5,000 people are homeless. A state of emergency has been declared in 42 areas in Peru, including several towns in the northern region of Tumbes where the Zaramilla River overflowed.
