Wildfires continue to burn throughout western U.S.

Wildfires and extreme heat continue throughout the U.S. West. At least 60 large wildfires are currently burning across the country, with most of them in the western states of Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Montana and Wyoming. Thousands have been forced to evacuate their homes. Across the country, wildfires have reportedly destroyed around 6 million acres (2.4 million hectares) this year.

Travellers to these states should monitor local weather reports and take all necessary precautions to avoid heatstroke and dehydration.
