Will Greek banks open this week

Germany’s Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) reported on Monday that Greek banks will reopen on Thursday, July 9, however, the Greek government reported that it is unlikely banks will reopen this week.

Officially, foreign credit and debit cards are accepted. However, not all merchants or businesses are accepting credit. There are reports of shortages of supplies, including medical supplies. Travellers should have adequate cash for extenuating circumstances in Greece.
