Yellow fever death during fishing trip in Brazil

A person who was on a fishing trip on the Araguaia River about 560 km from the Brazilian capital died from jungle (sylvatic) yellow fever.

Adventure travellers should be aware that the form of yellow fever that circulates primarily in monkeys (jungle, or sylvatic yellow fever) occurs in Brazil. People who undertake excursions and adventure trips in remote areas should ensure that they have been vaccinated against yellow fever.
