Yellow fever vaccination recommended for Peruvian destinations

Due to possible yellow fever virus transmission in the tropical areas of Peru, health authorities in Peru are recommending that all persons between the ages of 2 and 59 years be vaccinated against yellow fever at least 10 days prior to travelling to Loreto, Madre de Dios, San Martín, Ucayali, Amazonas, the jungles of Junín, Ayacucho, Cusco, and Huánuco, Cajamarca, Pasco, Puno and Huancavelica.

Advice For Travellers

Internationally, it is generally recommended that all travellers 9 months old or older be vaccinated if travelling to areas where there is a risk of exposure to yellow fever. In addition, travellers should take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
