Yellow fever vaccine availability in India is limited in Bangalore, Karmataka

There is some confusion regarding the availability of yellow fever vaccine for travellers from India going to Africa or South America. The Public Health Institute in Bangalore is the only designated centre in the state of Karmataka authorized to administer the vaccine, but it has been out of stock for 2 months. Local pharmacists, however, appear to have sufficient stock at higher prices. Other possible sources for the vaccine may include the King Institute of Preventive Medicine in Guindy, Chennai, or the Institute of Preventive Medicine in Hyderabad.
