Advice For Travellers

When countries combine reported cases of people infected with 3 different viruses, it is difficult to estimate the risk of exposure for each one. Approximately 80% of people infected with Zika virus have no symptoms and are not counted in official statistics. So the number of people infected with Zika could be as high as 80,000. Since all three viruses are transmitted by the same mosquito, the best advice for travellers is to take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
