Advice For Travellers

Transmission of the Zika virus is limited and very localized in southern Florida. The risk of exposure for the general traveller is probably low, but the risk in any particular location is difficult to estimate since so many infected people have no symptoms and are not recorded officially. There may be many more infected people in the community.

In the areas where the virus has been transmitted, travellers can minimize the risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
