Natural Disaster - Sudden severe rain and hail storm kills 40 in northwest China
At least 40 people died during a brief but violent rain and hail storm in Min County in Gansu Province in the mountainous region of northwest China. A total of 29,300 people had to be evacuated. Roads were blocked, houses collapsed, and farmland was destroyed. In addition, the power supply and telecommunications services were disrupted.
Travellers in this area should exercise caution since essential services, including transportation, have been disrupted.
