Contaminated cheese causes death in British Columbia, Canada

Consumption of a gouda cheese product contaminated with E.coli bacteria has resulted in 1 death and 3 illnesses. The cheese (Gort’s Gouda Cheese) was produced at a farm in Salmon Arm, B.C. Four additional suspected cases are being investigated by the BC Centre for Disease Control. Anyone who bought products from Gort’s Gouda Cheese Farm should dispose of them immediately.
