Malaria in Mozambique

Since the beginning of 2011 through March, health authorities have reported a total of 49,854 cases of malaria in Maputo Province. Compared to the same period in 2010, there has been a 68% increase in reported cases.

Travellers to this area should be aware of the risk of exposure to malaria and take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria prophylaxis is recommended.
