State of Emergency Extended in Several Parishes of Jamaica
Due to the rise in violent crime, some governments have issued travel warnings for Jamaica. A state of emergency has been extended in St James, Hanover, and Westmoreland parishes, including Negril and Montego Bay, until 28 October. A separate state of emergency covers St Andrew parish, including Kingston, until 5 October.

Anticipate heightened security measures in the affected areas including travel restrictions. A state of emergency allows police more freedom to conduct searches and seizures, detain persons of interest, and impose curfews without notice. Follow the security advice given by local authorities and your hotel.
