Severe Flooding in Northeast QLD - Australia
As of 18 December, due to ongoing thunderstorms and heavy rains, severe flooding has been reported across the Far North and Northeastern Queensland. There is a shortage of essential supplies at supermarkets. Drinking water levels are also critically low, disrupting water supply in the affected areas. Flood waters are infested with crocodiles. Emergency evacuations and relief operations are underway. Operations at Cairns Airport remain suspended. Adverse weather is expected to continue. Travel disruptions are likely.
