ScotRail Issues Disruption Warning - UK

On 15 December, ScotRail will introduce a new timetable due to planned engineering works. The new timetable will run for five months until 18 May. No trains will operate between East Kilbride and Thornliebank stations from 25 January 25 to 18 May. Alexandra Parade station’s westbound platform, heading towards Glasgow, will close from 18 January to 4 May. Hillington West’s platform 1, also towards Glasgow, will be closed for 13 weeks from 16 February. Dunkeld and Birnam stations will also undergo platform raising works, affecting some services. The majority of alterations are minor, with most routes retaining their current level of service.

Service changes will also occur over the Christmas and New Year period. The last trains of the day will depart earlier than usual on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, with services winding down from around 19:00 hours (local time). A normal service will run between 27 and 30 December.
