Update: State of Emergency Extended - Madre de Dios, Peru

Starting 31 May, the existing state of emergency in parts of Madre de Dios region will be extended for 60 days. The order was issued to combat illegal mining in the region. The following districts and provinces will be affected:

Tambopata province

• Tambopata, Inambari, Las Piedras and Laberinto

Manu province

• Madre de Dios and Huepetuhe
