COVID-19 Precautionary Measures in Saint Lucia (19 November Update)

Can a resident enter the country?

  • Yes

  • Citizens and residents can enter Saint Lucia.

Can a foreigner enter the country?

  • Yes

  • Foreigners can enter Saint Lucia.

Is a test required on arrival?

  • Yes with exceptions

  • All travellers will be subject to health screenings and temperature checks.

  • All symptomatic passengers will be isolated and tested. In case of a positive test result, the passenger will be transferred to the Respiratory Hospital for treatment and care at their own expense.

Test certificate required?

  • Yes
  • All persons five years of age and older travelling to Saint Lucia are required to submit proof of PCR test results performed within the past seven days by email to [email protected] and cc to [email protected] before their arrival. Travellers must print and travel with a copy of the submission confirmation email and a copy of the test results.

  • Passengers without the negative PCR test certificate will be denied boarding.

Is quarantine required on arrival?

  • Yes with exceptions
  • Travellers arriving from within the Designated Travel Bubble with a travel history in bubble countries in the last 21 days will be exempt from quarantine.

  • All international visitors must stay at a COVID-certified property for the duration of their stay. Those staying longer than two weeks may further explore the island after this quarantine period.

  • All vessels arriving from countries outside of the Caribbean Designated Travel Bubble must present a negative COVID-19 test and complete the required 14-day quarantine. All international visitors from outside the travel bubble must quarantine at a government or COVID-19 certified facility.

  • All returning residents, excluding those from within the travel bubble, will be required to quarantine at a government or COVID-19 certified facility for up to 14-days.

  • All symptomatic passengers will be isolated and tested; they will be required to quarantine until the results are available. All visitors who have a positive test will be transferred to a treatment facility until two negative COVID-19 test results are received and they are declared clinically stable.

Entry form required?

  • Yes
  • All arriving visitors (18 years or above) must complete a Pre-Arrival Travel Registration Form available online. Reservations for either a government quarantine facility or a certified COVID-19 facility must be made in advance before arrival.

  • Travellers must complete the travel authorization no less than 7 days before entering Saint Lucia. If the authorization is done at the last minute, travellers are required to forward their registration confirmation email that they will receive to [email protected].

Airline restrictions

  • Minimal
  • The country is open to all regional and international passenger flights.

Border restrictions

  • Minimal
  • Borders are open to visitors from all the countries.

  • All vessels must receive prior approval to enter Saint Lucia.

Curfew restrictions

  • Minimal
  • The nationwide curfew measures and the state of national emergency have been lifted. However, the government advises the public to limit non-essential movement and stay home between 21:00 to 5:00 voluntarily.

Social distancing restrictions

  • Moderate
  • COVID-19 restrictions are being lifted in three phases. As of 1 October, the island is under Phase three. The new measures will remain in place until at least 29 November.

  • A social distancing of six feet (2 meters) must be observed at all times in public places.

  • Work from home is recommended whenever possible.

Internal travel restrictions

  • Minimal
  • Masks are required in public transportation.

  • Taxis will operate with a limited number of passengers. Passengers are not allowed to sit next to the driver’s seat.

  • Car hire or rental is available for passengers arriving from the designated travel bubble countries.

Non-essential shops open?

  • Yes with exceptions
  • Businesses can resume full operations at their usual location while adhering to rules issued by the Ministry of Health.

  • All business and commercial activities must close by 21:00, with some exceptions.

Accommodations open?

  • Yes with exceptions
  • Many hotels are allowed to reopen with certification. The full list of the hotels can be found in the FAQ section here.

Restaurants open?

  • Yes
  • Restaurants are open and operating normally but must close by 21:00.

Bars and cafes open?

  • Yes

  • Bars are open but must close by 21:00.

Beaches and tourist sites open?

  • Yes with exceptions

  • Several tourist attractions are open; however, registration is required. The full list of tourist sites open to the public can be found here.

Personal care services open?

  • Yes

  • Businesses can resume, with safety protocols.

Places of worship open?

  • Yes

  • Religious places may open; however, there are restrictions on the number of people per square foot. A maximum of 100 people for large establishments is allowed.

Events allowed?

  • Yes

  • People are allowed to host and attend picnics, weddings, receptions, banquets, parties, and other social activities.

  • No contact sports are permitted.

  • Events are allowed with up to 25 people per venue.

Masks required in public?

  • Yes

  • People must use face masks while in public places and on island transportation.

Other

  • Daycare centres and cinemas are permitted to open with safety protocols.

  • Educational institutions remain closed. Closure of public and private educational institutions will be extended, and the institutions must continue distance learning procedures.
