Tsunami Hits Kamchatka after Magnitude 8.8 Earthquake - Russia

On 30 July, at around 02:24 hours (local time), an 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck 119 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The quake triggered a tsunami of up to 4 meters, prompting evacuations and damaging buildings in the affected region. Preliminary reports indicate that no injuries have been reported. The earthquake was preceded and succeeded by several earthquakes with magnitudes ranging up to 6.9.
