Moldova Declares State of Emergency

On 16 December, Moldovan authorities will impose a national state of emergency due to an expected cut-off of Russian gas supplies from 1 January. The emergency will last for 60 days. Declaring a state of emergency allows the government to respond rapidly and curb energy exports.
