Thailand: Royal Barge Procession in Bangkok on 12 December

On 12 December, a royal barge procession will take place at about 15:30 (local time) along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok following a parade. The parade will begin at the Rajakij Winitchai Pavilion and will proceed to the Grand Palace via Maharat and Na Phra Lan roads. Rehearsals will be held on 4, 7 and 9 December. Six locations have also been prepared to accommodate people for this occasion.

Water traffic will be closed in the areas during the procession. Land traffic will be closed only at the Rama VIII Bridge and Phra Pinklao Bridge areas where the Royal Barge Procession passes. Traffic disruptions and significant crowd conditions around the royal processions are expected along with increased security measures.
