Japanese encephalitis is present in Pune, Maharashtra, India
Health officials have expressed concern after 2 cases of Japanese encephalitis were diagnosed during the first 10 days of December. This is the first time in Pune and western Maharashtra that cases of Japanese encephalitis have been detected as the disease is usually seen in the state’s eastern districts.
