Travel Expected To Increase During Dragon Boat Festival - China

The Dragon Boat Festival this year will be celebrated between June 3 to June 5 in China. As a result, the railway administration expects a holiday travel rush between June 2 to June 5. A surge in airline bookings has also been reported. China’s Jiangxi and Heilongjiang provinces and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have allowed for the orderly resumption of inter-provincial tour groups. Travellers will be expected to follow the domestic COVID-19 protocols when travelling across provinces.

Advice

Travellers must be cautious while travelling to risk-prone regions as inter-provincial group tours would be immediately suspended if regions were labelled as high-risk and medium-risk regions for COVID-19. The government has advised travellers in Beijing and other cities to reduce their travel activities during the holidays to curb the transmission of COVID-19.
