5.0 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Ishikawa - Japan

On 20 June, an earthquake of 5.0 magnitude struck Suzu city, Ishikawa prefecture at 10:31 hours. No tsunami warning was issued. No injuries were reported. A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck the region around 15:00 hours on 19 June leaving 6 people injured. Tremors were felt in Niigata and Toyama prefectures as well.

Currently, bullet train services remain unaffected. Authorities have cautioned people in the affected areas of more earthquakes within a week. Aftershocks are possible after a major earthquake.
