Update: Hurricane IAN Makes Landfall in Florida - USA

On September 28, around 16:35 hours, Hurricane IAN made landfall south of Punta Gorda near Pirate Harbour with a maximum sustained windspeed of 233 km/h. At 23:00 hours, the windspeed was 144 km/h. The hurricane has affected Florida with gusty winds, tornadoes, storm surges of about 12 feet, and excessive flooding.
