Phreatic Eruptions Warning Issued For Bulusan Volcano - Phillipines (Update)

On 10 June, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded 149 volcanic earthquakes at the Bulusan Volcano in the span of 24 hours. The alert level was raised to level 1 on 5 June. An increase in seismic activity at the volcano could cause phreatic eruptions. Heavy and prolonged rainfall is expected in case phreatic eruptions occur.

Entry is prohibited within the 4 km radius of the Permanent Danger Zones. Stay vigilant in the southeast sector of the Extended Danger Zone due to the increased possibilities of sudden and hazardous phreatic eruptions. Contact local authorities for emergency assistance.
