Malaria - Peru (urban transmission)

Health officials in La Convencion province have reported that 9 cases of malaria transmisison were confirmed in the city of Quillabamba which is the capital of La Convencion province. However, at this altitude, malaria transmisison by infected mosquitos is generally rare and confimration that their infections were acquired locally in the urban area remains.
