Damaging Winds, Bushfires, Dust Storms, NSW - Australia

A severe weather warning was issued for much of the New South Wales (NSW) coastline on Wednesday, with predicted gusts of up to 90km/hr. Damaging winds caused dust storms near Wilcannia, Menindee, and Broken Hill. As of Wednesday at 16:30, nine small bushfires are reported from Bucca Road at Bucca, Greberts Road at Whiteman Creek, the Pacific Highway at Duranbah, Providence Road at Kalang, Scone Road at Copeland, Sugarloaf Road at Bendolba, and at the Valley Valley Trail in Nambucca.

Råd

The largest fire at Duranbah in the Tweed Council has burned 164 hectares and is out of control as of 16:30. Gale warnings were issued for the Macquarie Coast, Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast, Illawarra Coast, and Bateman’s Coast, while strong wind warnings were issued for the Byron Coast, Coffs Coast, Eden coast. Sydney closed waters. Residents and travellers are advised to follow the advice of state emergency services.
