Zika virus is now in the Dominican REpublic

The first case of Zika virus has been reported in the Dominican Republic. Since the mosquito that transmits this virus is widespread in Latin America and the Caribbean, more cases in more countries can be expected.

Travellers can avoid the inconvenience of this untreatable illness by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
